Subject: MPP -action on Coll temperature sensor interlock logic

Dear Mario,

I hope this email finds you well.

We are currently cleaning up the actions of the MPP.

There is one action for you concerning the new interlock logic for the Coll temperature sensors:

- Write specification for the temperature interlock logic and the filtering of the unphysical temperature sensor readings in the LHC collimator jaws and cooling circuits, and implement them after acceptance

As agreed in the 176th MPP it would be good put the new interlock logic into a small ECR like document. Did you find the time to do this in the meantime? What would be the timeline in which we could tick off this action?

Let me know in case the MPP can be of any help in this respect.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards,

Daniel

Hi Mario,

thanks for the fast reply. I do not think there is a super strict deadline.

However, I think it would be good to have it before the IST of the Collimators starts?

Can we aim for June?

Cheers,

Daniel

JUNE 2021

"Alessandro asked in which form the specifications for the new collimator temperature interlock logic should be written down. It was concluded that it should be in the form of a Controls Change Request (CCR) that describes the proposed changes but also summarizes the original interlock logic." (Minutes from 177th MPP)

During the 209th MPP, Mario reported that the document is written but still needs to be finalised.
