Update from Christos:

 

"You are right; this document was never completed.

I have prepared the drawings and info to include in the ECR, but did not add them in a document.

Will add it to my todo list and follow after we release the LS2 changes.

 

On your last question, there is no change since then from our side. There is an open question if we need to add a filter to one of the detectors at the back of each dump.

Early in 2018 based on your analysis, we agreed we don’t need to add yet. There was still margin with the intensity LHC was running.

If something changed, let me know and we’ll prepare a filterbox to add.

 

For info regarding the source of the fault, during the dump opening they took several pictures and it is clearly visible that the isolation of the cables is severely damaged by radiation.

We cannot yet analyse the detector damage and if there is any, but the cables situation can explain already the measured signals.
