2019 MPP workshop
The proceedings of the 2019 MPP workshop held in Chateau de Bossey are now available.
Latest and upcoming meetings
MPP chair: Daniel Wollmann, Deputy: Matteo Solfaroli Camillocci
Scientific secretaries: A. Calia, C. Wiesner and C. Hernalsteens
The Machine Protection Panel (MPP) combines experts from all machine protection systems, the operations team and the experiments. It ensures the coherence over the different machine protection sub-systems, verifies its proper commissioning and proposes the safe operational envelope of the different accelerators based on their state of commissioning.
rMPP chair for the LHC: Jan Uythoven, Deputy: Christoph Wiesner
The restricted Machine Protection Panel (rMPP)for the LHC is supporting the equipment teams and LHC operations on a very reactive basis for any urgent question or concern related to machine protection. It defines the allowable operational envelope as a function of the commissioning state of the machine and defines the boundary conditions for MDs and special (physics) runs.
rMPP chair for the injector complex: Jan Uythoven, Deputy: David Nisbet
With the LIU upgrade of the injector complex during LS2 and the resulting larger beam damage potential in the injectors, the need for detailed procedures and timely decisions related to MP was also identified for the injectors. The restricted Machine Protection Panel (rMPP) for the injector complex is supporting the equipment teams and operations on a very reactive basis for any urgent question or concern related to machine protection. It defines the allowable operational envelope as a function of the commissioning state of the injector complex and defines the boundary conditions for MDs and special (physics) runs. .
